“Energy for a New Perspective” is an ambitious journey around the world powered entirely by sustainable energy sources. Andy and Esther will drive, sail and even fly around the world using renewable fuels to propel them.
Andy says: "There’s no question that we all need to change our behaviour when it comes to energy consumption, but we’re hoping to prove that doesn’t mean giving up what you love, in our case travel. It just means discovering new ways to do it."
The team will be driving a bus converted into an eco-home with gadgets to make their every aspect of thier life on the road “low-impact” and it will be fuelled by waste vegetable oil, biodiesel, hydrogen made and solar energy.
Along the way the duo will be flying electric paramotors over towns, villages and countryside filming from the air. After each flight they will project the aerial images onto a screen on the side of the bus, showing local people their environment from a new perspective.
Esther says: "We want to engage with people along the way and find out how they get their energy and how they feel about carbon emissions in countries like Iran, India, China and Brazil." |
